 Founder of Kyokushin-Karate,  Mr. Masutatsu Oyama has passed away'

 Mr. Masutatsu Oyama, the Model of the story 'Karate baka ichidai' (by Ikki Ka~iwara), Sosai (Founder and President of Kokusai Karate do Renmei (International Karate do Organization) Kancho of Kyokushinkai-Kan has died at 8 o'clock in the morning of Tuesday, 26 April, 1994 by breathing difficulty caused by lung cancer at a  hospital in Chuou-ku, Tokyo.

He was seventy-years old.

The funeral and  Kokubetsushiki  (memorial ceremony) is going  to be held on 12:30pm, 27 April, 1994 at his  home (Kyokushinkai - Honbu) 3-3-9,  Nishi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo-to.
The funeral Master is his widowed wife Chiyako.

 He was born in Seoul, Korea. In 1947 he won in the first 'Zen Nihon Sensyuken' (All-Japan Tournament) after the war.  He continued to train by various methods include fighting against bull by bare hand and won from it etc.   
Also outside Japan he fought against many fighters from different kinds of martial arts methods include Professional wrestlers and so on.

He was called  as the 'God Hand' by the technique of chopping off necks of beer bottles by knife-hand. 1964 he stopped the 'Sundome' method which was then popular and  well known dominant training  method of  the karate world and started 'Full-contact'  (Chokusetsu-daqekisei)  method   of  'Kyokushin Karate' and founded INTERNATIONAL KARATEDO ORGANIZATION.
