95 Athletes and trainers from Greece, Denmark, Sweden, Turkey, Georgia and Japan participated in the 3rd International Summer Camp of the Greek union of KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE.
It took place from the 3rd - 7th July in Skiathos (site KOYKOYNARIES - SKIATHOS - PALACE)

There were six talented trainers, Dojo of the hardest Karate:
SHIHAN. (Superior grade) KENJI MIDORI (4 DAN - UNIVERSAL CHAMPION 1991) and the President of  the Japan Organization of KYOKUSHINKAI
MICHAEL SODERKVIST (5 DAN Representative of Sweden),
SENSEI. KENSAKU YAMAMOTO (3 DAN -4 times CHAMPION in Japan),
George KOSMIDIS (3 DAN - LEADER - Representative of Greece),
Allan CHRISTENSEN (3 DAN - trainer of the National team of Denmark) and
Mellios Paschalis (2 DAN - President of the Greek  KYOKUSHINKAI).
They taught a complete technical and fighting program. It's the first time that the participation of foreigner trainers and athletes surpassed the number of forty persons. There were 36 Athletes from Denmark, 3 Athletes from Georgia (Between them there was the representative of it Sensei Antantil Shengelia - 3 DAN), 2 trainers from Turkey (Between them there was the new representative of Turkey, Abdulah KAYA - 2 DAN),         1 athlete from Sweden and 2 Athletes from Japan.

There were fifty trainers and Athletes from Greece, which was the organiser of the Camp. The trainers were the following:
MELEKIADI OTARIO (KILKIS), NASIOYLI KON)N. IONIA - VOLOS)
TSIARA DIMITRIO (AGRIA - VOLOS)  VLACHOS EVAGELOS, CRYSOHOOY AMBROSlO,
PSAROBA GABRIEL, KOSMIDI EFDOXIA and 25 Athletes from the Academy of the Greek KYOKUSHINKAI, 7 Athletes from the society DIAPLASI - N. IONIA, 5 Athletes from Kilkis and 5 Athletes from KOMO TINI. During the Summer Camp, all the athletes had the opportunity to be taught the tactics and the strategy in fights (KNOCK - DOWN), the removals and evasions by the trainers. But the best opportunity of all, was that everybody had the opportunity to discuss with the ALIVE LEGEND of the Universal KYOKUSHINKAI -SHIHAN KENJI MIDORI - He and the Sensei YAMAMOTO participated in all the hard trainings watching and correcting all the movements of the athletes in a patient and friendly way. The Greek champion TSIARAS DIMITRIOS was the basic partner of Shihan Midori in all the hard and painful techniques, which they had during the teaching of the fighting techniques.  Except the presence of Shihan Midori we had the remarkable and important participation of Michael Soderkvist. He is one of the best technical in Europe. He presented and analysed the practice in application (BUNKAI) of the technical KA TA.

in the end of the 3rd international Summer Camp. A Sayonara party took place in the Skiathos Palace, which was the residence of all the shipment. Dojo and representatives were honoured in Commemorative medals and all the athletes took diplomas of their participation.

The representative of the Greek KYOKUSHINKAI conferred honoured medals to the Minister of the Transportation and communications, Mr "ALEKOS VOULGARIS" to the prefect of Magnesia Mr PANOS SKOTINIOTIS and to the Mayor of Skiathos Mr Prevezano Dimitri. ALL of them were honoured for their moral and material assistance in the organisation of the Summer Camp.

The Mayor of Skiathos was so kind that he offered to us a place round the lake in Koukounaries, for our training. He also offered a dinner to all the foreigners Dijo and the representatives. It was a kind gesture of the Greek hospitality and specially of the island's hospitality too. The honorary President of the Greek Kyokushinkai "The Minister of transportations and communication - Mr Alekos Voulgaris sent a blessing letter to us. He reports.
Athens 27/6/00 Mr President I  felt happy when I received your invitation to four days international camp of the KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE, which would take place in Skiathos. Unfortunately I'll not be able to come, although I have a great interest for the KYOKUSHINKAI Karate. I would like to congratulate you for your activities. You managed with love and success to make the best for the union of the Greek KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE.I would like to thank you for the honour to offer medal as an honorary president of the KYOKUSHINKAI and I confirm you that you'll have my endless moral and material Support.

The Greek representative and the administrative council of the greek KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE predict that there will be a good cooperation between the GKK and the JKK in the future.

The Uniting bond will be Shihan Kenji Midori with all our admiration and respect.
