5th Summer Camp  KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE  SKIATHOS 2002

The fifth Summer Camp of the Greek KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE SKIATHOS 2002 was realized in a great organized success. It took place in the magic site of Koukounaries. It was in the Japanese and European model.

Totally 40 athletes and trainers from Sweden, Denmark, Romania, Italy and 50 Greek colleague were met in Skiathos (HotelSkiathos Palace) and they were trained in a common program of training. They exchanged their experiences and knowledge in the KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE.

Great names of the Kyokushinkai-kan Karate were officially invited as the representative of Sweden Shihan Michael Soderkvist 5 DAN. The national trainer of Denmark Allan Kristensen 4 DAN Killer taught in the camp in cooperation with the chief representative of the Greek KYOKUSHINKA1 George Kosmidis, the national trainer Otario Melikiadi and the President Melio Paschali.

The program included two trainings per a day. It was special granted and useful. The Athletes and the trainers had the chance to meet many aspects of the traditional and the fighting of the KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE. In the end of the seminar of the Camp we had promoted exams for the 2nd and 3rd DAN from Sweden SHIHAN MICHAEL SODERKVIST and Sensei Allan Kristensen and George Kosmidis were in charge of it in the exam which had the traditional hard way of the KYOKUSHINKA1 were taken place according to the rules of the European and of the International organization.

The Greek national trainer Otario Melikiadis succeeded in the grade of the 3rd DAN and the trainer of Romania Rando Seorgan in the 2nd DAN. The effort continued for 4 hours and both of them fought with 30 opponents in the fight of knock down. The Greek technician was distinguished in the resistance, power and the efficacy of his techniques. The two trainers were promoted in the analogues grades.

They'll take the official diploma of the International organization KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE IKO  head quarters HONBU JAPAN. Among all the invited persons in the Summer Camp were the old championship of SHOTOKAN KARATE.  The National trainer of the Greek confederation KARATE KONSTANTINE Gouvousi 4th DAN. The Manager of the Surgical Department of the Medical centre of Greece Mr. Apostolopoulos Tasos 3rd DAN. He is now the general secretary of the Greek KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE and the old champion of KYOKUSHINKAI PANAGIOTIS ANTONIOY who'll soon be in the Union of the Greek KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE of the family of our founder MAS OYAMA.

The whole event was closed with the traditional SAYONARA PARTY where the participants took their diplomas and the remembrance gifts (blouses hatsbrelock) which had been given from friends  granted persons of the KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE.

The Greek representative George Kosmidis gave honoury slates to the ex under secretary Mr. Aleko Voulgari honorary President of the Greek KYOKUSHINKAL The president of the Greek federation of KARATE, Mr. George Sanioti, to the Mayor of Skiathos Mr. Prevezano Dimitrio, to the president of the athletic organization of the Municipality of Skiathos Mr. Paparizo, to the owner of the HotelSkiathos Palace Mr. Petro, DerveniY to the representative of the harbour Mr. Zisimato Christo of the Ministry of the Merchant Marine and the governor of the school of Policemen in Kornotini Mr. Saphalaki Stefano.

All of them had offered a precious offer in the athlete of KARATE Mr. Melios Paschalis.

The president of the Greek KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE gave honorary slates to the official granted Mr. Tobro Kiriako of the insurance company ASTRA5 to Mr. Vourlogianni the representative of theSubaru firm and to the General Representative of Daewoo firm of Salonika Mr. Antony SouvIeri.

These persons offered material and morality contribution. The whole organization was done under the protection of athletic organization of the Municipality of Skiathos because except the propagation and the expounding of the KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE it increases the Athletic Tourism in the area of Magnisia.

Its obvious from the great process of the European teams.

The International Summer Camp of Skiathos is considered of the best universal camps of KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE. It happens because of the support of the Derveni bros of the HotelSkiathos Palace and the Municipal Authority, who entertain the Greek and foreign athletes and trainers. In the next International Summer Camp, the great Japan teacher MIYOSHI KOMBOGIASI, 7th DAN of the International Organization KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE IKO  TOKYO Japan expressed their wish to come and they want to teach.

The committee of the Union of the Greek KYOKUSHINKA1 KARATE thanks everybody who worked in the success of the 5th Summer Camp. especially the Greek trainers and presidents of the association Mr. Antoniou Panagioti, Pavlidi Nikolao, Melikiadi Otario, Pliatsika Apostolo, Karapliago Athanasio and Kosmidou Viki.

We must mentioned the honorary appearance of the Minister of defence in Vosnia Erzegovini  Mr. Slobodan Mpilie was the official guest of the Greek under Secretary of the National defence Mr. Louka Apostolidi and the honorary president of the Greek KYOKUSHINKAI ex under secretary of Transportations and Communications Mr. Alekos Voulgaris.
